In my opinion, strengths is not the difficult part. Almost95% of the candidates are able to tell their strengths. However, I suggest being precise and practical when telling your strengths. The key is: not too many nor too few.
But more crucial is the weakness part. People always try to get away by saying: "I've got no weakness". I think that's a weakness in itself.
The best way to deal with it, is that a candidate should always keep a weakness in mind that is not going to affect their work life (at least not in the eyes of the employer).
