These are the must haves :

1. Digital Analytics

2. Webmaster Accounts with Google & Bing

3. ScreamingFrog Spider (Spidering Tool)

4. Any KW ranking tool (AWR etc)

5. SEMRush/Keyword Spy for Competitive Research

6. Adwords Keyword Planner

7. Google Trends

8. ahrefs/MagesticSEO/OSE to view the link profile.

9. A few Chrome/Firefox Plugin

a. WebDeveloper (To test and visualize different components of your webpage)

b. Wappalyzer (To know what technology is used)

c. Chrome Mobile Emulator/Responsive Site View (To view how your site works on Mobile etc)

d. Ghostery (It gives what tracking is being used, and moreover you can block any tracker)

e. WebProxy (to view websites for different location)

f. Social Analytics (it shows how a URL is interacting in Social Platforms)

 

List goes on, but the above are must haves ..........

Moz.com – Moz has a variety of free tools and paid for ones that improve all aspects of SEO and digital marketing.

Raven Internet Marketing Tools – offer link building, research and competitor analysis.

 

Social Media:

Sprout Social – Manage all social media channels in one platform.

Hoot Suite – Monitor multiple channels and streams in one dashboard.

 

Analytics:

KISSmetrics – Geared to small and mid-size SAAS and ecommerce businesses, KISSmetrics is a web analytics platform that measures our marketing efforts.

 

Monitoring:

Simply Measured – A social media analysis and reporting platform.
