Hi, I am a civil engineer with15 yrs site experience looking for a change to get into planning career. I have full confidence in using the primavera software and to apply the same to plan a project. But , I don't have the firm experience as a planning engineer. However, I am keen to learn more towards getting a job as planning engineer (entry level) and carry forward my profession in planning.. I prefer to work office related area due to medical reasons. Thanks
surely , it is favorable to focus on project management studying before learning Primavera Program which is tool for you to schedule project by .
Dear! Primavera is not Project planning, its just a tool for project planning. You dont need to learn Primavera to be a planning engineer. You have to be what it takes to be a planning engineer, Primavera will only provide a modern touch and extra dimension to your skills as a Planning Engineer. Good Luck!!
Yes you can, with training in Project Management
Primavera is just a tool when coming to planning, so need not to worry when you know activities & time involved when planning a project.
Of course, the site engineer can change the career path to a planning engineer because in this case he will be familiar with everything that remains in mind during planning.
Primavera is a project management program and until you can do it well you must learn the science of managing projects first
Yes. with that lenght of experience, he can. because he knows the process from scratch to finish
Planning is a triangle of Time, Cost & Resources. Primavera is just tool for planning. If someone has site experience, definately he knows hot to control resources, cost and time. He also has advantage of sequence of activities involved in particular project from site survey to handing over. Site experience is key advantage to become planning engineer until he also start learing primavera and reach maximum expertise.
Yes, it is possible. But not preferred.
