Without proper trainning I don't think you can pressure any one to do extra work,the fact that an employee is not performing well is the cause of poor training,knowledge,skills and poor communication that helps an employee understand what is really expected of him.
Till you know that they can give more work according to human being , also MUST report that to managers in order not they ask for tasks cant be finished according to ability of your stuff, finally you MUST be relastic in your field to achive the goals which can be applied.
