The human resources department has myriad different functions that both the company and its employees need. The human capital of the company is one of its prime investments, so they have to be cared for in a way that allows them to be productive and to flourish as individuals. It’s the HR department’s job to ensure that the employees are properly compensated and are fairly treated while they’re part of the company. In addition to this, HR also evaluates the employees based on their performance to ensure that they’re still on par with the company’s expectations. Lastly, when employees are performing well, the HR department also provides them with opportunities to branch out and step up in the corporate ladder.
A great HR department is one that functions by integrating all other departments forthe greater good of the company. The department has the opportunity to function both an operationally as well strategically and is often the advisor to stakeholders and business heads. HR departments must seize the opportunity of becoming a true HR Business partner through long term foresight and attuning to business requirements raher than being administraively task oriented and shortsighted.

To make a great HR department with its solid operational activities, an outfit to be set up for Human Resource Management and a judged HR policy manual should be outlined in a specific period. A conceptual development of relationship between working and welfare should be established within all the department / section / unit. HR planning and manpower analysis for perfect staffing and development of the employees is important for synchronization of all the employees and resources within department and section. To identify the gap and demand of the employees in the manufacturing units HR planning is to be followed for well being of the company. To fulfill the shortage of the manpower in the factory, a proper recruitment process to be judged. Avoiding all types of local influences and persistent referee, potential candidate should over come to have the job for the right post in the right place. HR should focus the benefits rewards and facilities those which company desire to establish for its ongoing work force groups through a dynamic and detailed HR policy. The management should clarify the penalty those will be imposed on employees for violating the rules and regulations of the company and for creating disorders and corruption in the organization and these policies should be noticed to them. From the HR point of view, it is observed that for the revitalization of the resources, proper and accurate utilization of the production materials, stock values and the most valued human resources with its payroll system and personal information system, supply chain management, transparent reporting with continuous feedback, inbound and outbound logistics; valuable and prestigious modern automation system should be set up all over the organizational operations.

all of us knows what's HR functions and tasks but what makes a great HR department is how the department perform its tasks and functions.and from my point of view i believe that HR department should follow some rules in its performance to be great such as:1- HR department is the most important liaison between the employees and the management so communication and integration are very important2- HR department should act based on customer service behaviour3- to be proactive, accurate, organized and to meet deadlines should be the HR department principles

In Addition to what Rahmatullah Khan said, I would ask today's HR world to be loyal and unbiased. Majority of the candidates are suffering due to biased and racist perceptions of HR's.
Not sure if you all agree, but biased and racist perceptions have been a monster eating up lifes and hopes of potential candidates for a long time now.

being people oriented. Since from the title itself, it deals with people and since policies come from this department, it is important that good and balance relationship is kept. HR should have the integrity of a true lawyer but the should have the rapport of good friend.
