There are several methods to do it. But, what is the best choice in the most of scenarios ?

If we are talking about one site create 2 domain controllers as primary and secondary with one DNS and configure the DHCP for clients to include the DNS from the 2 domain controllers

Split is using for high available mechanism. If we have few <200 then use whole brain
