I need to know the latest engineering software especially for quantity surveyor?

there are some programs help quantity surveyor to calculate quantities , I need to know the new one in this field

Excel because i can easily calculate and make summation

Timberlane & CCS(Candy) are Good but its better to make your own format in excel.

I prefer Excel for Quantity Calculation coz it help me to read drawing in detail.
