When choosing members for a project team, what characteristics do you value in an individual?

I would look for a Team player 

Good temprament 

Leader

Goal directed individual 

Persistant in work 

I believe it all about Good Team Management and motivational character when choosing an individual

Only one thing (( Work History )) as according to these achivments i can evalute the managers in thier filed according to the results.

Firstly the member should gave the required skills and knowledge on the project. Then the commitment of the employee shown in the past years towards the organisation. He should be a good team player with good interaction skill so that he can successfully transition the project. Good team player and commitment. 

Commitment, politeness, initiative and positive attitude.

when picking someone for a team, you must see if they have common sense, qualified based on results from other projects, which wil give you their workethic, can they work with others and meet deadlines,the rest you can train and mentor.
