On the cheque date. but AR balance still remain in the book until the cheque is cleared.
PDC received should effect the accounts receivable on the basis of the check date.
Only on the cheque date it is considered as received. meantime it is treated as receivable.

A postdated check (PDC), — a check with a date that is later than the current date — is not considered to be currency.
Further, the postdated check should not be reported as part of the Cash Account Balance until the date of the check.
If the postdated check was received as payment on accounts receivable, the accounts receivable balance is not reduced. Therefore, the company Balance Sheet or Debtor's Balance remains the same until the date of the check..
