Good Day!!!
Co-planning & execution of strategies
For a company to be able to provide value-added services to customers, it is essential that both marketing and sales integrate the knowledge they acquire from their day–to-day interaction with the market, and then use it to continuously refine each prospect interaction. Sales-marketing alignment bridges the information gap between marketing and sales.
I believe Customer Services should be closer to Sales than Marketing.
But CS should be close to marketing because, they should be aware of all promotions and campaigns introduced by marketing. Further, they should reporting feedback from customers regarding services, complaints, product development, and many other market information that can be used by marketing.
Marketing Team offers all that what is possible from the company by way of after sales service. New customers rely on these promises before taking purchase decisions, and the expectations of the customers should be met out as they always tend to place their after sales requirements with the marketing team first with whom they have all the contact information. This require a link to be established between the marketing team and customer service department, so that the marketing team will be able to adequately service them with appropriate feed back. From the point of view of customer they won't distinguish each department separately but instead view altogether as One unit with integrated network. The requirement of a proper alignment arise thus and is justified.
because it is better to keep a good relationship inorder to keep the business in a better condition for growth
Because they both complement each other.
In chronological order their relation is marketing/sales/customer service. This makes one complete cycle of a successful sale.
So in order to continue or sustain the cycle or not to break the cycle, the beginning of the cycle which is marketing should be in line with the end of the cycle which is customer service.
If the marketing and customer service are not aligned, sales will be floating lost in the middle.
