Actually any employee with higher caliber has been one day a new employee. What can be done is having a new employee learn from higher caliber employees. Moreover, new employees do not usually carry large responsibilities instead start with small ones and gradually will be promoted.
If all companies apply a policy of higher caliber employees then all new graduates will be unemployed.
To maintain the same status co level of the New employees, the company's assessment of the deemed expenditures to attain the parity of out put and results what the skilled and potential staff with the company exceeds expectations.. And also the company confidence level of new employees are yet to prove despite the qualifications or skills the new employees possess. The flexibility and adaptability of the new employees are also gauged at lower levels when compared.
Be it internal customers (Employees) or external customers, retention through engagement programs are very important and valuable as lot of time and money has already gone in developing this resource for meeting organizational requirements.
No human being wishes to be stagnant with the potential level and thus enough opportunities for new challenges have to be created for learning and developing and achieving new milestones.
They are the back bone of the company. The most important resources of a company is its human resources and High potential employees are actually in demand always and it is to be considered as a treasure of the company.
My View : Its very important to stop a good employee .
Because, toget an asset and then build the asset to gain returns is not an easy work again in any commercial organuzation . See, if its MNC its the work / duty of HR Dept -how well they act on their duties and responsibilities of thier job profile . Method /Technique used depends on person to person / siyuation to situation / company to company .
In an unorganised / semi organised system its the role of the Management to retain his employee- how well he acts & delivers is his work capability, that is the only return which an employee asks from his employer . A true employee & employer relationship is noticed at this junction .
High potential employees and high caliber employees if they are either experienced or fresh graduates will not make any difference. Only differences that matters are
1. great work experience
2. sound knowledge
3. senior level position
4. Leadership roles
5. More exposure
If any employee at senior position doesn't pace up to the advancement and competition than that individual is worse than a fresh new graduate with no work experience.
