What is the role of payroll accountant? is it only transfer salary and allowances or something else more?

I perform this role as Transfer salary&Allowances,monitor leaves or any other deductions,final settlements,medical claims,......

In the case of Pay roll account means To input the basic data for the each and every one like Working days, LOP days, Leave taken days,Present day and deltion and addition if any for the month and holidays if anay, have it the salary structured and deduction details including statutory dues if any - This is the first step to get it from HR or to have it by him if he is taking care.
The send one to upload the basic information which showing in the first step.
Run the systems if we have in the package or if it is maintained in the excell to make the formul for the relvent addding and deducting point.
The take a print out of the full sheet for accounting and control purpose.
Then pay slip has to be given to every individual along with the salary.
This may be either by printout nor by having the programme to send it them direct email ID.
The there are two entries has to me made by the accountant.
1) while making salary payment - Debit the Salary Payable Account and Creidt Bank Account 2) Booking Salary as a expenses - Debit Salary account Credit Statutory recovery account (what ever terms in various counter has to create and creidit (in India TDS, PF, ESI , Professional tax, Labour Welfare fund etc.,) and balance amount to credit to Salary Payable account.
The Salary payable account is the control account for pay roll process involved in various aspects in the pay roll preparation.
The payable account debit and credit should match.
Then the Payroll accounted has to take the following reports in the payroll master sheet.
1) List of TDS decuted employee wise like with TDS return (This will help for making payment and uarterly return) 2) List of PF deducted (here PF has to pay by both employer and employee) the both the contribution has to tallied and to be remitted (This will help for year return fileing very smooth)  The accountant has to make calculation for charges (expenses) related to PF Administraion chargse and has to be paid (i.e The PF Payment is consist of a) Employer Contribution b) Employee duduction and c) Administrative exp ) all to gether to be paid 3) Same steps for ESI also like PF steps 4) Professional tax and Labour welfare fund also the same steps to be followd All the cases Yearly return has to be paid (This can be done by either by accountant nor by HR person but giving date is the resposiblity of the accountant.

Payroll Accountant Responsibilities and Duties

 

·         Perform payroll accounting, make payroll entries and maintain payroll files for the company employees.

·         Assist in payroll calculations, changes, deductions, and withholdings.

·         Process timesheets, W4 changes (for foreign countries), personal time off(PTO), and leave of absences for employees.

·         Calculate taxes and prepare tax forms based on IRS regulations.

·         Ensure that payroll processing is in compliance with federal, state and local laws.

·         Calculate wages for overtime earnings and process vacation deductions.

·         Address payroll inquiries from employees in a timely manner.

·         Prepare payroll and tax reports to Federal, State and local agencies when required.

·         Analyze payroll issues and provide appropriate action plans.

 

·         Generate periodic payroll reports to Managers for review.
