SEO experts, what was/is the highest amount of unique visitors/daily you ever scored by occupying one of the first 3 spots in a search engine/Arabic?

A discussion - extra information appreciated - Here are some hints: 1- A single word or a phrase? 2- How long you retained the position? 3- What was your main successful approach to occupy the keyword? 4- Keyword related to what industry?

1- For me I ranked many keywords(Two & three words) both (Arabic & English) not single word , because Single keywords take more time and it's very difficult to stay on the first page for long term.

2- SEO is the continues work.
if you stopped doing it , any other website will come and will take your place just like in real life:).
For competitive keywords your place on first page will usually dynamic sometimes you will be in top 10 , sometimes in top 5 and so on
3- The approach can be different for each keywords depends on the Keywords competition.

4- The Keywords were/are related to , Live streaming , Internet Marketing Related Keywords inlcuding Social Media , SMS Marketing , SEO , Medical industry and some others.
Most of the Keywords were over 30K visitors per moth.
Now a days I am working on a keyword which has more than 100K visitors per moth and hopefully Insha'Allah will be on the first page in next 2 months.

Google panda and penguin updates has pushed many seo to dark side, if you have natural links then you are on top.....
If you already have many links so analyze your site -may be you are affected by panda or penguin, there is no short cut goes to seo empire all cuts are long and natural.....
I would recommend focus on low competition keyword then go further.

Thanks for Mr.Syed and Mr.Abdulshakoor for answering the question, During the last few days, I found that many experts are very interested in SEO, specifically questions about "how to rank" in search engines.
So I decided to ask this question, to provide some insights on traffic size can be generated from organic search.
Through my few years experience in SEO (Mainly: Entertainment Industry), I could occupy (first to third position) keywords bringing from 1 - 30 Thousands Unique visitors/Daily, I'm still ranking for almost 85% of those keywords (Some for more than 4 years now).
Keywords usually range from single to 3 words Keywords.
I have to mention that many of them bring less visitors compared to previous years due to social networking going in the front, but they are still feasible and bringing a decent amount of traffic.(For sure they are feasible, organic traffic cost nothing!!).
I can say that jumping into the first page was never an issue within few weeks period, but the higher the harder to go, once you are in the first or second position, its harder to lose the keyword if you are following SEO basics, monitoring your traffic and take correction actions when needed.(I used to rank in the first 3 spots for same keyword with 3 different links!).
I wont go into details here, but an important thing to mention, Entertainment keywords are very or maybe the most competitive in the Arab World (with much black-hat SEO and spam), I could rank and maintain my positions without going into a single link building technique (else than organic linking visitors create), an advice here, on-page SEO and internal linking with big websites are the most important in today SEO.
We can discuss details in another question/discussion inshallah.

1) I usually focus on 2 word keywords as they are best to work for and not much a difficult aspect to get higher ranking on Google SERP (Search Engine Result Page).
2) For most of the keywords which I worked for my own websites and including my client's websites as well, it rank for more then 5+ months and they are continue to be in improving position on Google SERP.
3) It depends on which industry and on which targeted keywords you are working for.
4) It related to Apparel n Fashion, Electronics & Electrical, Telecommunications & Online Web Solutions Industry.
Have a nice day Alaa AlHamdan.

Well I will start with the following:

While you may want to explore answers to a question you have had, You were not able to ask the correct question.

That been said, as any person with any SEO experience knows that keyword search volume change of daily bases, and asking for traffic volume is not anyway helpful to any cause.

Now to Answer your questions:

1- You were asking for short tail or long tail keywords (FYI: those are the terms used not "single word or a phrase"). In recent years search habits have changed, while People used to use short tail keywords because of search engine limitations and peoples desire to find what they need, in recent years many search engines have developed algorithms to support the change in search behaviour which is long tail keywords (asking questions on search engines), for example Google introduced Hummingbird late2013 to support and meet the change in search behaviour. Now that we know how search habits have changed over time; we can conclude that long tailed keywords are the most common and widely used by search engine users, thus while creating any SEO Strategy such information should be considered to increase visibility and better from your SEO ranking.

2- When setting an SEO Strategy moving down the search engine results list should not be an option, nor a set limit of time to stay on a high rank, achieving a high rank and staying in that rank is much more simpler with the correct strategy and continues work. (TIP: Identifying keyword Competitors and analysing their SEO Strategy, Link-building and Copywriting Behaviour will help you outrank any competitor in the results page for any keyword)

3- "occupy" is a very strange word to use, The most beneficial strategy when selecting keywords to Better Your SEO is Selecting the keywords that are Organic to your business, industry, services, or products. as for an SEO Strategy you can never limit what you do, SEO Work is not limited nor decided by just keywords, you have many technical process that start from before even buying a domain name.

I could talk for hours about SEO and how to create a good SEO plan or strategy, But for now I will modify your question to reflect a more accurate an answerable question on keyword strategy.

Question: What are the best on page and off page practices to ensure high ranking on search engine results page for a specific keyword:

Some of the important on page SEO practices:

1- Good copywriting without keyword stuffing

2- Having semantic indexing in mind while copywriting

3- Include images on your page (Alt tags and file name optimization)

4- H1, H2, H3....... importance awareness and consideration during copywriting

5- Page Title Optimization

Some of the important off page SEO practices:

1- Link-Building to good website (What constitutes a good link is another topic for another day).

2- Relation between keywords on pages linked between websites.

3- Anchor Text

4- Number of links created compared to competitors

4- While I am not here to pick on your grammar as I have glossed over many, I must correct the grammar on your last question: "Keyword related to what industry?" the correct grammar and syntax is: Under which industry is the keyword categorized.

Now for the second hard part which Is explaining why the question itself is wrong, Keywords can not be industry specific, Why ? Well the short version is that all people use keywords like you think or know. (the full answer will take a long time to explain but I will be happy to answer it if you can phrase the question correctly :) )

I was highly surprised by the lack of knowledge in the answers provided and that is really discouraging me from participating in other questions.
