Dear Andrew

Thank You For The Invitation

When Managing The Productivity You Should Take Into Your Concideration The Following Factors

Items Produced

Time Of Production

Actual Available Time

Down times

Standard Production Rates

So; When Calculating Productivity You Take All Of These Terms Into Your Account As Follows

Productivity = Ideal Cycle Time / ( Operating Time / Total Pieces ) Or Can Be Calculated As

Productivity = ( Total Pieces / Operating Time ) / Ideal Run Rate

Also You Can Garantee The Results If You Took Into Consideration The OEE Of The Manufacturing Line Because It Gives You A Complete View Of The Productivity Of Your Plant

As An Example For This

OEE = Availability * Performance * Quality

Availability = Operating Time / Planned Production Time

Performance Is Usualy Calculated In The Same Way As Productivity Mentioned Above

And Quality = Good Pieces / Total Produced Pieces

And This Is What I Use To Measure The Productivity Of A Production Line

But If The Line Depends More On Man power Regardless The Machines

Then OEE Will Be Replaced By OLE

Calculatng OLE Is The Same Of OEE

Availability = Time operators are working productively / Time scheduledPerformance = Actual output of the operators / the expected output (or labor standard)

Quality = Saleable parts / Total parts produced

Thank You
