In production, the raw material is not procured from outside, the company owns it and after processing and make the final product. But in Manufacturing, the company procures the raw material from outside, and then makes the final product. manufacturing is a process of converting raw material in to finished product by using various processes, machines and energy.it is a narrow term. production is a process of converting inputs in to outputs.it is a broder term. every type of manufacturing is production but every production is not a manufacturing. exa- making of a turbine by various processes is manufacturing assemble the various parts to make a engine is production not manufacturing.

In manufacturing, the company procures the raw material from outside, and then makes the final product. (Ex: For a Cement Plant Iron ore, Bauxite, Coal, etc were procured from outside).

In production, the raw material is not procured from outside, the company owns it and after processing and make the final product. (Ex: For a Cement Plant Limestone is the key raw material for producing clinker and then to cement as its final product).

Both are process to converting inputs into outputs by applying some operation or process.manufacturing is a process of converting raw material in to finished product by using various processes, machines and energy.production is a process of converting inputs in to outputs.

The manufacture is a stage in the production process.

1. A manufacturing organisation produces products which are tangible while a service organisation performs services which are intangible.2. A manufacturing organisation have minimal customer contact whereas a service organisation have a high degree of customer/client contact.3. A manufacturing organisation produces goods that can be standardised or have consistent quality, e.g. Mars bars, cars, clothing. On the other hand, service organisations often perform services tailored to meet individual client/ customer requirements and may not be consistent, e.g. tax advice

The major difference which I haven't seen anyone point out is that Manufacturing output are tangible items while Production outputs can be tangible items or intangible items. A service rendered is a form of production but nothing has been manufactured. I hope this helps.

i think manufacturing is a process of converting raw material in to finished product by using various processes, machines, manual labor and energy.it is a narrow term.

But production process to converting input in to output regularly manufacture and experimentally of products.

Like making a parts of machine is manufacturing but when it assemble in machine than we called production

I think, there is no hard difference between manufacturing and production. However, converting a raw materials into something useful may be termed as manufacturing. On the other hand production is the process of getting desired output with specific inputs. In that sense, production is a broader term, I guess.
