For the experienced ones but beyond a certain age, it is difficult to get a suitable Posting in sales/marketing.
But after the entry, experienced ones can perform exceptionally well.
A real fact but often forgotten by the recruiters on some other considerations.
(Sir, where where you? We were missing you for the last month. Thank you for joining again..Wish you all the best...and again wish you a happy New year that will bring all the prospects for you and good luck.)
It all depends on the person, some have the skills to be a great salesman and others don't.
I don't think it's an easy job. It maybe easy to be involved in sales/Marketing but it's not easy to succeed as one.
Who said it was easy?
I won't say it is tough or easy.... It's work & more importantly one should do where His/Her passion lies.
For an Non-motivated or non-planned sales or marketer may find Job tough as they lack 'Direction' but most of us it is challenges & with sufficient efforts those are achieved.
It is just a matter of perception. It is not rocket science but it isn't a piece of cake either.
Some people who are not in the field of sales and marketing perceive it to be easy without actually experiencing the hurdles and hardships of this discipline, something like the saying - "The grass is always greener on the other side".
From a traditional point of view marketing and sales in considered trading and almost always confused with some negotiation in the marketplace. This explains why most of businesses and start-up initiatives fail within the first couple of years.
It is easy because it is all about process of understanding and providing services to satisfy people
Sales/Marketing is tough because there is usually no limit to your goal. If you reached a certain amount of sales this year, the next year you will aim to maintain it or aim higher. And to do that, you will have to exert more than the effort you gave last year. However, what makes sales/marketing easy is the fact that you are part of the market, too. You see different advertisements everyday, you decide which product to buy, you buy them, you use them. You are also a consumer. Therefore, you are aware of what your customers need and want. So, sales/marketing becomes more like a "common sense" to everyone.
