I100% agree with the answer of lamia Hadi Ali alaubaidi . She is correct, there is no Industry where there is no requirement of Marketing but only difference will be the Impact & challenges.
I believe though Marketing will be important in all Industries, It will be more challenging in areas where the planning & implementation is across vast channels, targeting millions of customers, Servicing10000's of retailers, presence of large competition &1000's of brands,Day to Day based that happens mostly in two Industries FMCG & Retail. :-)
Manufacturing Industry.
Come to Pharmaceutical Marketing............. you will enjoy and will experience all the flavors and techniques of marketing in this industry. You will also get ample chances and resources to test your skills and experiences here.
But it doesn't means other industries have lesser potential.
Being experienced of this industries i am recommending personally.
The golden rule of Marketing is understanding the customer. If the person is a good marketer he or she may does not need to be worried about the industry they choose.
But to be successes as a marketer it will be ideal to get in to a industry which they are passionate about or which they are familiar. For an Eg: if the person is not a tech savvy individual going to IT industry as a marketer will not help him much as he does not have a good idea about the industry
