What in your opinion constitutes good teaching? Did you observe any good teaching taking place? What made it effective?

I've observed good teaching strategies. Teacher implements the use of technology into assignments. For example it was asked of the students to explore the internet and to paraphrase a news story they found interesting. And students all had a chance to share their side of the news. It led to critical thinking as teacher asked very good questions to the students based on their stories. The fact the students enjoy surfing the net made it easy for the whole class to participate and motivate themselves to learn more or surf the internet more often. That was just one method. I think when teachers are involved in the assignment they can bring out the fun or make it boring..
