I've been thinking about relearning Da Vinci resolve, but before i invest the time i wanted to ask your opinion about the software..is there any real advantage using davinci resolve when working with3d renderings, or is after effects/Nuke compositor enough for color grading? Also, i have very limited freetime, so learning davinci indept only makes sense if there are large amount of studios utilising for advance color grading work. thanks for your advice!
Like any software must be used for delivering real projects, knowledge of film technology and advanced color perception is desirable. Everything else needs time and practice...
Da Vinci Resolve is the most used color grading system for Hollywood movies, it can turn normal footage to epic scenes if used correct.
That's why it should be the main way we correct our footage
Francis Ford Coppola once said, every time I make a movie I give it every thing I have
and I think every one should
I 'm professional on editing and VFX software starting from Avid Media Composer , Adobe primierPro, Final cut , to After Effect and Nuke studio... and non of them give me the power of Da Vinci Resolve in the term of grading.
