It is really important in different ways. Environmental friendliness is one issue, the other main issue is that it's very cost effective, meaning that renewable energies are much more cheaper and easier than any other energy sources. i.e solar energy, wind energy and so on... But initial installation might be expensive.
IT IS THE TIME TO MOVE FORWARD TOWARD THE RE TECHNOLOGIES
As for the small/medium apps, I would say the SOLAR POWERED/LED street lighting system, Solar Rural houses is more practical as of now, however, CPV and/or CSP is recommended for mega scale grid connection for industrail apps, this ofcourse requires government initiativea and policy framework

Hello
I think renewable energy is very important with small power loads especially direct current loads DC
Now I am working in large-scale renewable energy project for telecom sites , witch needs1-3 KVA and working on -48 VDC , this kind of loads is very appreciated for solar and wind systems . Now we have more than100 systems with good results in power & diesel saving and good working time after the grid is off .
