Managing warehouse means that you are managing: system, personnel, products, Coordination (Interrelations with other departments). This means that you have to deal with each article and fulfill its requirements, if you wish to control management from all point of view.
• System: There are many software programs, which organizes warehouse activities: like organizing stocks issuance and receive, items replenishment levels, available volume, scheduled shipments …etc.: this is very necessary to eliminate dead stocks and save money, having distinguished warehouse and financial records accuracy.
• Personnel: Here you have to contribute in the employments experience, build trust and respect between management and the workers, by:1 - Studying the informal organization: which is compound from the social relations between employees, and indirectly affects the productivity of the teamwork. The same should be supervised to prevent its negative consequences.2 – Personnel training and development, periodical evaluations and the awards system, are all the tools for maximizing the benefits of the human resources.
• Products: understanding the nature and properties of all products, to ensure the proper handling, moving, packaging and stacking. This step will guarantee the ultimate utilization of the warehouse available volume, and to reduce the warehouse wasted products, which might be destroyed due to the ignorance with the products physical properties (miss handling, reaching expiry date).
• Coordination (Interrelations with other departments): These will affect warehousing plans like: loading shipments schedule, stocktaking schedule, stocks replenishment requisitions plan.
