How to use books to promote your business?

Think of smart ways to use books to promote and soft sell any business. Can you list at least 3?

I can think of one way: Get your company product / service described in a book as a revolutionary way of doing something that millions of people do regularly.
An example of this promotional technique working is how the book Born To Run by Christopher McDougal made the argument that barefoot running was healthier than running with padded shoes and introduced Vibram Five Finger shoes to much of the world.
The barefoot running revolution was started and with it Vibram saw it shoe sales sky rocket.
The challenge with this strategy though is manifold.
I will cite 2 challenges here: 1.
Getting an author to feature a product in a book is not easy 2.
Ending up part of a book that somehow makes it to the best seller list is more luck than planning

Books are a great way to promote your business. You can showcase your professional knowledge and expertise through a book. By distributing the book you can attract new potential customers to your business, raise your brand awareness and engage with your customers.

First of all, I will research into popular books that the target market likes to read. I shall theafter coil my book in a way appealing to my readers for them to keep wanting to read that particular book and this is how I shall do it:

1. Conspicously write the name of the organisation and its brand/services on the front cover.

2. Describe each brand individual in detail in a language the target market shall  be able to comprehend.

3. Explain to the potential customers where,when, and how to find the said products.

4. I will also ensure that pricing of all products are provided for on the last page. This includes margin and discounts for both the wholesalers and retailers. I will clearly indicate the profit margins for the two sets of retailers i.e the mordern trade and the general trades.

5. I shall write on experiences by consumers who have used our products, explain to the consumers the importance and advantages of using our products vis a vis the competion. All these aimed at promoting our brands.

Advertisement is important in any type of business moreover sharing ideas and work as a team is also important. Moreover introduce your business, Provide your service,etc. Love your passion is also important.

Entirely depends on what type of business are you promoting. Is it a product or service ? Most common type would be offering coupons leaflet inside magazines or books.

For ex, if you are selling school bags, you can target famous comics, kids magazines, even books of authors like JK rowling to promote.

First point is that digital mktg/ promotion should get tagged on the good eBook one selects. Second is paper booksbooks where BRAND Promotion is possible in direct pre-discussions with Author/ Publisher....and also, a small advt at back cover or with Book Flap is possible...It is also possible to advertise a scheme where sales receipt qualifies a buyer to avail discount on MRP of a book..

This is a very interesting medium.
The immediate thought in my head is the barriers one would have to overcome: One would be that mainly books have longevity working against them.
And another would be that you can't do anything with regards to content.
I do have a few ideas (not well thought of, I'm afraid).
1) Bookmarks.
They are cute, and quite practical.
But you never really have one around when you need it.
I often use post-its or even a torn edge of scrap paper.
With bookmarks, you can print related ads or QR codes on them.
And give them away for free with every purchase (i.e.
a bookmark with reference to restaurants or grocers with every purchase of a cookbook).
2) Inserts.
Small flyers that carry discount coupons.
(i.e.
power tool discounts inside every home improvement book.
3) Ad sleeves.
Don't know if you'd be familiar with this.
it's basically a band of paper wrapped around the book.
