Macs have special security integration unlike other OS. A Mac could receive virus but won't let it execute and dominate its system - in other words, it cannot multiply and nest or damage/corrupt the system.

It would be naive to imagine that any operating system would be completely safe from viruses, but Macs are probably as close as you can get.
