Do you use adwords" negative keywords" or "keyword exclusions"? And do you exclude your domain or brand name?

I was always wondering, why when I search for Example.com I see an ad from that particular business in the top of the search results "the leading ad at top", today I faced this many times. So I decided to try it with Bayt.com "as an example for my question", jumped to my Google search box and tried to search for the terms: bayt.com, bayt website and some other terms in Arabic. Search (Search history personalization DISABLED and while logged out). Now Bayt "again as an example" is ranking #1 in organic search for those terms, while an ad from Bayt showing above! I guess more than80% will click on the ad rather than the organic result, Bayt pay for a click to a get a visitor who will "90%" visit them through organic search! so why to pay for those keywords. Now my question is: did you ever try to add such keywords to negative keywords list? or at least do you monitor your clicks stats to get an idea of how many keywords you are paying for while you already acquired them through organic search? I wish you share your experience here. Keep in mind these ads may be useful in some cases like:1- a competitor is targeting your brand name and you want to make sure your ad is showing above his ad.2- not all searchers usually click1st result, showing an ad ma increase CTR.3- Before thinking of point1 and2, do you sell or goods that worth paying money to get those fractions?! Thanks in advance for all participants! Notes: "I Never tried it myself" "Bayt.com is used as an example"

- Do you use Adwords "negative keywords" ? Yes of course.
- Do you exclude your domain or brand name? Hell No! I do create a separated campaign to target brand name keywords with different variations.
Why would you do such a thing, if you're already the first organic result? Have you thought of "Landing Pages" ? You need to separate between SEO and SEM.
From an SEO perspective you do your best and follow best practices to ensure high rankings in Search Results.
While in SEM, your first focus is usually conversions, that's why when you click on Bayt Ad and Bayt organic result, you will see different pages, the Ad Landing Page focuses on encouraging you to complete the conversion, rather than just browisng the website.

Thanks for sharing Muhammad, I do agree with you that this is one of the main reasons to use such a strategy, but still I see some brands use almost the same page.
Plus it needs more investigations in many cases, e.g: I expect a big portion of people searching for "the exact brand name" to be familiar with the service --> create conversions.
Plus from my experience, many returning users "Especially Arabs" use search engines to get back to the website! I agree with your point of view but I suggest a deeper look at statistics and some tests here.
Thanks again.
