Many of feature 3D movies are going to realistic actions, do you think traditional exaggerations techniques will disappear one-day?

it depends on the movie itself, exaggerations and realistic movements provide the audience with different perception of the scene and sometimes comes handy side by side to give more expression.

actually many of creature characters can not be animated using motion-capture or a life references.

But when we talk about Art-of-Animation we need a creative thinking for actions, we need to think out of box most of time to ignite the imagination.

No, it won't disappear, because every3d movie has it's kind of audience and target sector, for example, movies for children need some exaggerations and follow through actions, for youths realistic actions is enough to deliver the message.

There is always a place for the traditional, as it is in the end "traditional" for a reason. Of course it will not disappear as, sorry to disagree with the question itself, but I don't think many feature3D movies are actually going with realistic actions. Unless we're talking about VFX movies, and not fully featured animated movies, where motion capture is mostly used. And still the answer I would say is no, since exaggeration can be part of the acting itself.

Asalam,

I'd been invited to answer this thread question. But, it seems it's already addressed to some degree by OP.

It depends on the film story/scene requirements - You'd need realistic motion animation to seamlessly integrate with the hand made animation that 'Require Special emotional values for that shot'. So, you'd need the exaggeration of character movement to carry the important elements.

It all comes down to the story. You wouldn't Place Lion from Madagascar movie to replace Life of Pi 'Richard Parker Tiger'. They are two different characters of two very different films completely.

Traditional exaggeration even on realistic characters are all relevant to engage the audience.
