A supplier and a vendor are both entities that supply goods or services, but the term vendor can be used for both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) sales relationships, while the term supplier is typically only used for B2B relationships. A vendor also differs from a supplier in that a vendor can be both a supplier and a manufacturer.
"All Vendors are supplier but all suppliers are not Vendor" Supplier is a party that supplies goods or services. Vendor is party that not only supplies goods & services but also adds specialized input to deliverable. Vendor can be treated as "Both Manufacturer & Supplier" Example: Ice cream Vendor Like Igloo , Polar , Buskin Robbins, Anderson All are manufacturer as well as supplier. But when we went to Ice cream shop you will get or find all the brand together and that shop can be treated as supplier , because that shop is re-seller not manufacturer or nor that shop can add any specialized input to deliverable. So there is a small difference between these two terms Vendor & Supplier. What I have written above is my own Perception . Please make me correct If I am wrong.
A Vendor is an entity who supply finished goods, can be a manufacturer or a seller yet the supplier is the entity who supply raw material that will be used to make a finished commodity or product. In the other hand, any entity deliver a service is called a service provider; not a vendor nor a supplier.
- Vendor is an entity that can potentially enter a contract with you for the provision of goods or services and - Supplier is an entity that already provides goods and services to one or more other entities in accordance to established contracts
Vendor will be selling local item and supplier means foreign company or large local company who supplies bulk quantity.
A Vendor is one who is a potential supplier.
Vender means Who Can design and make or built and delivery or Any specific items to some one who requires things.
however supplier Is middle man to get the things from venders and supply on the request of the on their demands. Venders have technical know how Or detail input of the items and having remedy i case of damage , but suppliers did not possess such expertise ! not in 100 % knowledge.
The difference between a vendor and a supplier can sometimes feel confusing, but it really comes down to their roles in the supply chain. A supplier typically provides raw materials or components to manufacturers, while a vendor sells finished goods directly to consumers or retailers. If you’re managing either, having the right tools can make a huge difference. I came across this link recently, and it highlights a vendor management system that helps streamline the entire process. It’s a great resource for improving efficiency and keeping track of relationships, whether you’re dealing with suppliers, vendors, or both
