Why does translation method is important in English teaching?

"Why does... is..."! How could "does and is" go in a single sentence!?

Anyhow, translation method is useful, sometimes in teaching English as a second or foreign language for adults. I do not believe it is important, but I think the method is useful when teaching English language for adults. I do always believe it is better to teach a language using the same as a language for instruction.
