Agree with the answer of Mr. Owais
Before you develop the tool through which end users can contact ...Understand the purpose of any contact for which you want to develop or initiate communication..
Is it an general feedback you need from the app user's experience?
You want your satisfied consumer's to up-sell other unique or premium services?
You want to interact thus to understand further requirements of the active users? etc
Thus, if your purpose is set & based on the action you need to take you can either create or develop interactive tools or create an platform to engage.
You can also provide linkages in the app to your main website, thus it will act as an brand building measure to 'create recognition to yourself or your company' & enable satisfied consumer's to have a Know-how of other services or new app's provided by you.
:-)
The question that you need to ask first is that what do you intend to do with such a data? Does it involve feed back or does it involve further goals like making a conversion? There are a few methods where you can use to follow up with users but they would involve the users to be specifically involved. i.e. web feed back form, survey. A little incentive goes a long way to motivate users. For example if you have a product, you can offer discount coupons for those customers that use the web app, the user could be asked to provide contact details which in turn could be used to contact the customer. There are a few other methods, however, It is possible that you maybe looking for something much deeper.
Using Analytic tools you can get data that you can use to further improve the web app, analyze the complete user activity at the end of the activity. There can be many answers to your questions, so depending on the goal, the answers will possibly vary,
Kind Regards,
Owais

ASK
Dear Nuha,
Life-cycle engagement model is the best way where you should model the user/customer life-cycle and provide a clear route toward progress in the customer life-cycle.
As an example, a typical web application user life-cycle would be:
1- Signed Up - The user has just signed up
2- Activated - The user completed preliminary necessary steps to activate her account
3- Collaborated - The user shared the application with colleagues
4- Paying
The type of communication with users automated (preferred) or not, should be related to the current life-cycle the user is at and it's current engagement level.
Activated user should get a different communication message than someone who signed up and didn't complete activation.
