What is the critical thinking?

The exact definition of critical thinking has been up for debate for many years. However, in1990, the Delphi Report, a research study on critical thinking, was published to clarify the definition of critical thinking. A consensus definition was developed from the46 critical thinking experts consulted for the research study.

The Delphi Report definition: Critical thinking is the level a student is able to interpret, analyze, evaluate, explain, and infer concepts and ideas. 

Critical thinking involves problem solving, decision making, meta-cognition, rationality, rational thinking, reasoning, knowledge, intelligence and also a moral component such as reflective thinking.

Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally. It includes the ability to engage in reflective and independent thinking. Someone with critical thinking skills is able to do the following : understand the logical connections between ideas.

Critical thinking is the power to think well. Critical thinking is quite compatible with thinking "out-of-the-box",challenging consensus and purusing less popular approaches.

According to a definition analysis by Kompf & Bond (2001), critical thinking involves problem solving, decision making, metacognition, rationality, rational thinking, reasoning, knowledge, intelligence and also a moral component such as reflective thinking.

 I agree with the experts but have also my personal opinion which is:

Critical thinking is  evaluating things around (happenings, events, ideas, ...) in a very rational, detailed, honest and comprehensive manner.

Critical thinking clarifies goals, examines assumptions, discerns hidden values, evaluates evidence, accomplishes actions, and assesses conclusions.
