company can provide online real time reporting and tracking by using special software and special program such as Opentracker , Sage system , ERP System , Cisco , SAP ,, and so on ,, most of these software work to track every thing belong to any company tiny thing or even huge data . all of these software have there own tools ,, easy to operate , also most of them are very secured , and these tools are proprietary.

For online reporting the chepest solution is to ask your company business software support team to prepare reports available on report server.
you just design format of different reports you need and explain them calculation criteria-
on business server is stored all transaction wheneve happened-so you just tell them which data to bring in this report and some columns can calculated.and you have to agree how often report server must update information.
If your company has it's own server & people are put in place for such services it's a simple affair in today's world,there is nothing proprietory about it.In fact many machines work online with the suppliers to solve issues.
