The imprint function is to Imprints2D geometry on a3D solid or surface, creating additional edges on planar faces.
2D geometry located on a face or the intersection of a3D solid with a face can be combined with that face to create additional edges. These edges can provide a visual effect, and can be pressed and pulled to create indentations and extrusions.
The object to be imprinted must intersect one or more faces on the selected solid in order for imprinting to be successful. Imprinting is limited to the following objects: arcs, circles, lines,2D and3D polylines, ellipses, splines, regions, bodies, and3D solids.

Again, I didn't know that, so thank you experts! Nothing to add because the complete answers are above

The following prompts are displayed.
Select a3D solid or surfaceSpecifies a3D solid or surface object to be imprinted.
Select an object to imprintSpecifies an object that intersects the3D object you selected.
Delete the source objectSpecifies whether to remove the object whose shape served as the imprint outline.
Agree with answer given by Mr. Mohammed Shakeel with addition that we must make 2D shape intersects 3D solid to Accomplish the process successfully
Muhammad Shakeel explained in his answer.
I agree with answer, Mr. Muhammad Shakeel.. Thanks
Mr. Muhammad Shakeel did explained it quite well and you can read up on it on knowledge.autodesk.com
