How objective do you feel that the interviewers are from the departments that you have applied to work for other than the HR Department?

HR does very often over look very important qualities of a person ... I have met very nice and good HR people and I have encountered very bad once ... mostly in the company I have been working .. I hate it if a person thinks she is more than you are .. a specially if she works in HR..

I avoid these people at all cost when I can...

We all work at times with people whom are hard to get along with. The interviewers cannot be always objective, as very often they shape their opinion based on their subjective perception.

My experience: NOT, they built an image around your CV and that's it.

If I do an interview I briefly read the CV but go from scratch to see how a person reacts. The "Problem" with HR people is that this is there job, but the miss the specific feeling with the job asked. Especially technical position. The HR people are usually psychologist and don't have any feeling with the work.

Interviewers are definitely interested with my qualifications and specialist. If not, they will not waste their time getting me into the interview if I am not qualified on the said job application.

·         Listen to your people; they’re either telling you what they want you to be doing, or what can help you improve added to the positive things you're doing.

Some of the interviewers from the departments that you have applied to work for "other than HR" are so objective, professional and friendly welcoming potential candidate but some others are completely opposite for some reasons that are known and unknown.

Normally, you will have to get interviewed by both HR and your direct manager. HR's major concern is make sure that you will fit within the company as a whole, while the direct manager wants to make sure that you fit within his team. That's why HR interviewers are more dry and follow the book. But the interview with the direct manager is more like a personal conversation.
