Well, looking to the equation of Power like follows:

Power (VA)          =            V (VOLT)        *                I (AMPERES)

Power (Watt)        =         Reactive Power      (VA)           *             COS   Φ      (POWER FACTOR)

First, you must know the loads that this generator is going to supply power to it in order to know at which power factor it will work. If this is hypothetical you can assume power factor that you don’t want to get below (0.85 for instance).

Second, you need to know at what voltage your loads are going to work at. If this is known to you then you the rest is simple.

Let’s take an example:

V =220

Cos Φ    =0.85

Then, Current is:

I = Power (KVA)/Volt =1000000/220 =4,545 A

In case of three phase, the equation becomes as follows:

I = Power (KVA)/(3*380) =1000000/(3*380) =1,519 A
