In my opinion a Manager is as important as a Leader because a good Manager can get the best out of his team to benefit the organization.
I would certainly prefer to work with a Leader rather than a good Manager because of the following reasons;
1) A Leader assigns tasks by showing examples and is confident of positive results, whereas, a Manager assigns task and expects positive results.
2) A Leader ensures the benefit of an organization and makes his team members grow simultaneously with his achievements, whereas, a Manager ensures company benefits along with his personal growth.
3) A Leader is visionary, whereas, a Manager is contemporary.
4) A Leader maintains his best attitude for the team to follow, whereas, a Manager expects best attitude from the team members regardless of his own behavior.
5) A Leader performs to WIN, whereas, a Manager performs to please the higher ups.
A leader can make you a leader yourself, a manager might make you a good manager or in majority cases - just like himself
