Yes of course..  but hasten but slowly.. if it is a new subject then go through only the fundamentals.. the actual teacher's methodology may be different from your methodology of learning.. The best is always learnt self-taught!!!

It must be yes because as teacher we face unconditionally reactions and feedbacks from the students. We should face a class or lesson with the consideration of evaluation of last meeting.

it is good to read about a topic before a class to have a better understanding and fast learning.

It depends what you are studying but to give a very general answer, I think it is. To be a bit more specific, I'm not sure it's necessarily a good idea to actually teach yourself the topic of the lesson, but I suppose it depends on the subject. If you're studying maths, for example, I would let your teacher teach you the methods used for working your math problems out, as you'll need to use these methods in your exams. If the subject is English, studying new vocab and reading the texts before class would not be such a bad idea.
