Dear Sharif.
1- Consider the amount of inlet flow to the sump
2- Get effluent of sump into consideration
3- Be aware about start/stop of pumps and prevent small time intervals according to manufacturer suggestion.
4- Define number of pumps according to items1 to3 and sump dimension with a glance to service area.
5- Considering one pump as stand by is recommended. For example if you calculated two pump of50% flow, then consider3 pump of50% flow.
1.(Simplex) one pump normally runs and the second kicks in only if the effluent level rises above a failsafe point.
2.(Duplex) two pumps alternate, taking turns running - spreading the wear over two pumps and you'll know when one fails and have a chance to repair it.
all i know submersible pump used in :
1-water purification company (to get water from the nile to the purifcation tank)
2-i basements we use that pump to left the sewage up to ground level (manhole).
3-in a project a submersible pump was in an entombed diesel tank.
