Well, when one is freshly out of college - there is a Ocean out there to explore. I would not use the phrase "Great Jobs" - but definitely promising career options (excluding investment banking) . New graduates would mostly be taken as "Management Trainees" as Interns, and the following options are available (provided the academic institution from which the jobseeker graduates has a good rating):
1. Finance department of any Multinational Corporate (MNC)
2. Finance department of emerging corporates or Small & Medium Enterprises(SME;S)
3. Audit intern in a Big -4 firm or a audit firm of repute
4. Interns in A grade consulting Firms (Mckinsey, BCG, Booze Allen, regional consulting firms)
5. Executives in NGOs - Non -Governmental organizations - this is a very fast growing & desirable career option for many college grads
6. Executives in Credit rating Firms - such as S&P, Fitch, Moody's
7. Trainees in Commercial Banks - many different career options
8.Trainees in Functional consulting area of ERP Companies such as SAP, Oracle & INFOR
9.Trainees in Business Process Outsourcing Firms (BPOs)
10. Insurance Industry - the Insurance industry has been a major recruiter of college grads in the last5 years! As the Industry is becoming multi layered and needs huge manpower resource, college grads with good personality, attitude and learnability are picked up and trained on the job.
11. Tax advisory & planning firms - Yes ! even tax advisory & planning firms are picking up college grads and providing training as qualified CPAs and accountants are in short supply!
