Trust is the biggest issue with new fellow. To develop trust you need to understand their past and where they have come from. Need to have a nice informal chat outside the office environment to understand what baggage they bring along from the past employer interms of work culture and experiece etc.
On the other hand, they need to trust you. so be very clear on what is on your mind. your vision. you expectations. your way of working. resources available. etc.
Give them some time to adjust to your pace, especially if you are fast and expect things to happen quickly. some might adjust immediately. some might take time. find out why they take time. maybe you need to work more with them for getting them onboard quickly. Always be a role model, inspire people and lead from front come what may.
Leading means helping people identify and face challenges. Facing a challenge is fundamentally diff erent than solving problems.
