How would you handle rude or disrespectful behavior?
Well.. it is simple, I would not!
Primo: because it is unprofessional!
Secondo: because it is unacceptable!
There is something called manners, social responsibility, ethics of work and so on (…)
We are not talking about bad mood or humor.. It is normal to have a bad day. We all have it time to time!
However rude or disrespectful behavior is aggressive - So You do not have to deal neither with rudeness nor disrespect!

I would give them opportunity to speak for such behavior, let them say what forces them to behave erratically. There is no smoke without fire, unless you touch upon the bases the problem will never get resolved. If they fail to explain me the reason or I am unable to understand then I will distance from them and leave them with their behavior . Just ignore them ...........
I think i would have words with him/her in polite manner prior to approaching any higher authority
Rude and unprofessional behavior may steam from difference in home language where requests are lost in translation. The direct translation from their home language to English might just come across too direct.
A response of "sorry are you talking to me?" turn around and see if someone is behind you, may be enough to make the other person think, wait, I may have offended.
Then if they say 'yes, I was talking to you"
Query again, "Really, let me clarify, you said, bring me that xyz right, (repeat the offensive dialogue) so you told me, ordered me, without any please, or common practice respect, well I have a problem with that" So unless you address me correctly, accept I will ignore you, does that clarify the situation correctly, Mr Joe Soap"
Of course this is only to be addressed to someone on equal rank or even a direct supervisor. No matter who it is, if we allow someone to disrespect us, they will continue to do so, therefore if you have a first unpleasant encounter for no reason whatsoever, then set that arrogance right as soon as possible.
If you lose the job, is it worse than losing respect for self? I think not, that job was never worth having then.
Walk away and hold your head high, show you are worthy and should be treated as such.
Self control and tolerance is needed to deal a rude colleague. Using my manners and dealing with him in a kind manner will help him relax and calm his rudeness.
Mention it to the offender, and keep cool about it. Don't take it personally, at all. Try to sort it out at the lowest level, you and the offender.
Just smile lovingly seeing into the eyes of rude & disrespectful staff member. Let the rude people feel that you don't care about their rude behavior & you still have faith in them.
