A general yet brief answer would be vision, planning and follow through. An idea is just that until it is actualized. A manager needs to do just that – manage others, according to a planned and thought out strategy.A retail manager is similar to the proprietor of a store and has many responsibilities as compared to the other employees. If a retail manager is good at planning and has a vision for the future, he or she can take the company to the next level.
Fully agreed with the answer being shared by Mr. Ismael Hamad
Most of the important/basic qualities of a Manager should have are:
1) Quality of treating everybody equally in the team - Free from Bias/prejudice.
2) Good Listener - Have time for the team to discuss with any issues1 to1 or with team.
3) Be a role model
4) Be a Good Leader
5) Maintain cordial relationships with the team - the manager who maintains cordial relations with the team will get the work from the team effectively and promptly. Getting the work done in right way and timing is also a important a manager should have, that can achieved by maintaining good relationship with the team.
6) Be a Mentor to guide the team in a right direction in case required.

Leader
Team motivator
Task Master
Problem Solver
Rest I agree with others.
The most important basic quality that a manager should have is he should be just. Should not be biased to any gender (this means if he is a male should not show special favours to female employees), and should lead from the front( that is if he expects his employees to stretch and do a12 hour shift and come to office on week offs he should do the same).
I agree with the given answers. Thanks
