Why do civil engineers study basic electrical?

so that a civil engineer can know that what should be the specification of electrical wires and instruments in under construction building and ton of refrigeration required for a building. 

Because there is a link between all displine in a building and construction , and to coordinate and know if any electrical or mechanical issue will affect his work.

Hi, As experiencing the building services trade, I studied electrical at college but also did a lot of hands on mechanical works. On AHU, pump motors, fan coils. Actuators, most devices are controlled electrically in the control panel, with relays, contractors, so really you need an understanding of how all components work, an understanding of safe isolation, which is a key part of maintenance, we call it lock off and tag off, but the ️you also need an understanding of how pipe work, works through out the building. You always have your mains income of power, so nearly everything you work on in a building has a source of power.. So therefore it makes sense to train people in an electrical field. However back in the uk where I did my training, my apprentiship was everything, chillers, boilers , electrical, mechanical and plumbing. Which also gives you a wide knowledge on how building systems work.

Civil Engineer should has a wide knowledge about Basics of electrical and Mechanical .

these works must be coordinated from the the start , especially that need to be founded with footing works like ; earthing , drainage , water supply main pipes , and all other infrastructure works .
