Project Engineer is responsible from concept design/engineering till final commissioning & handover of project but site engineer is responsible primarily for site activities looking at site with the collaboration of contractors to mobilize manpower for construction, site inspection, supervision & to monitor work progress & report their manager, who may be sitting in head office or at site. We can say, A project engineer may be handling role of site engineer as well depending upon organization structure but site engineer role is limited & it is for construction & supervision only.
Site Engineer is concerned with the Execution of physical work at site.Also they are the main source of technical advice & quality control for everyone working on it.
Project Manager is responsible for all the project.
Site Engineer controls site activities and work progress whereas the Project Engineer manages project objectives, work quality, cost and duration.
