You live in society where both religion and culture has a deep impact on most of us................. In islam, it is forbidden to shake hands with women................ similarly there are societies e.g., India, where people don't interact with people of other SECTS and even different cultures.

SO if you strictly observe and follow the preaching & teaching of religion, either you have to make a clear decision not to work in a multicultural / multi-religion office environment or have to draw a line between DO's and DONT's

Though hand-shake is important in western societies, Asian, even Koreans and Japanese prefer other ways of giving respect to each other. They would bow instead of a hand shake.

So it's always best to improve your instinct and understand how the other person, especially female, feel comfortable. Notice their gesture and react accordingly.

My personal view is that Handshake  with the panel member after the interview makes you feel confident and comfortable.

Yes and a No,

If the employer offer a hand, and you, based on your culture and religion is not allowing such act, you can just reciprocate by smiling and saying thank you.

If the employer did not offer a hand, don't offer your hand back too.

If you don't have any problem regarding hand shaking and the employer offer the hand, go ahead and reciprocate.

you have to take into consideration the culture and the religion of the interviewer specially the female one

other than that hand shaking is  a good sign and makes you comfortable

A handshake is a sign of humility and professionalism. Whether an interview went well or not, a handshake is a must. Always.

Handshake is a sign of respect for both parties.we didn't have do same culture even religion.so I think handshake is the best thing of saying thank u or pleasure.

I would suggest to "Handshake " after an interview. It is about being polite with good manners and shows proffesionalism.
