if you were the one who have the authority of selection & you have2 cadidates for the same job both are having the same working years of experience for example10 years but one of them got MBA OR CMA etc
1- selecting the one who got the master degree or the professional certificate
2- meeting both of them because the more important is the skills for the required job both of them got
I prefer to meet both of the candidates because it is not necessary that aa candidate having the master degree or a professional certificate is the suitable for the job, may he/she don't have the required skills which is necessary for the required job or may be he/she have some attitude problems or many others reasons etc. It is better to meet both of them before taking any decision because selecting a candidate before meeting of the all the short listed candidate also shows the biasness.

I think both are good
you can check for more skills could be required in future like IT or communications Skills
but i would select professional certificate
professional certificate test real work environment and what the best professional act in nowadays
Academic like Masters do not have real work actions and examples
my answer will be option2
as my preference should be their ability and skills not degree
