Hi Gentlemen, I have problem with Emotron Soft Starter of 22.0 KW Grunfos booster pump. It goes high ampere during pump operation. Need advise?

i) Check the allingment of pump with motor.

ii) Check the bearings of pump.

iii) due to increase of fluid pressure.

High current could be due to following reasons:

1. Discharge valve closed or throttled, water churning.

2. Foreign material getting into the pump, obstructing impeller movement & overloading the motor. 

3. Mechanical damage in the pump.

4. Electrical fault in the system, loose connection, start- delta etc.
