I can tell you based on my sales experience that rejection is unfortunately inevitable. There is no secret to reduce the number of rejections you accumulate in your sales. But, you can network with customers even if they don't want to purchase anything. Treat all your customers as if they were buying your company! If they reject you now, it is important that you build a relationship so that they will return in the future with the desire to make a purchase.
One of the reason of sales rejection is depend on how you commit or promise to the customer. Number one is communication. Keep update your customer about the status of thier order. Do not give over promise. Give an allowance for the ETA given by the supplier. Connect always to your customer,dont let them to send a follow up reminder to thier orders. As a sales person,we are the one who give update to them about the status of thier orders.
Customer rejection can be on various accounts like wrong product ordered, damaged product received, delay in delivery etc.
It is important that the customer is given complete clarity of the colour design etc at the time of order placement and before dispatch confirmation is taken from the customer and the expected date of delivery is also communicated.
Internally product packaging and followup with logistics provider should be done so that material is delivered on the timelines commited.
Understand quality parameters or specifications of the customers and let the product meets/complies the customer's specifications. We can send a preconsignment sample of the product to the potential customers to evaluate at their end to confirm the quality aspects to help customer interaction for the product application at their end and getting feedback before sending the actual consignment. THIS WILL CREATE A WIN WIN SITUATION,
My Opinion is
Before sale do the best marketing, Sales means "Mission Impossible" But you have to do this "Mission impossible" to "Mission possible" through your marketing Skills, Don't sell them products but make your products or services their needs.
