Our brain and intestines are two organs that require great amounts of energy to work effectively. When a large, calorie dense meal is consumed at lunchtime, your brain diverts energy towards digestion, sending red blood cells over to help break down the food and carry nutrients to the rest of your body. As your intestines work overtime to break down and metabolize the large meal you just ate, the rest of your body slows down and relaxes. This might make you feel lethargic since your brain doesn’t have as many red blood cells to help it function.
Blood supply goes into specific part of the body when needed. example is when the muscle in gastrocnemius are used because of running, blood supply is rich in muscle to supply the energy needed for walking or running. same principle applies to the intestine. when sudden rush of blood is needed in the intestine the brain blood supply goes less so the person feels sleepy because of lack of blood.
its relate to your habit of eating if you have over weight and eat fatty food and mix many kind of food together in one meal your stomach will be in bad mode "how to digest all this kind of food in the same time" and also you will have insulin intolerance which cause this feeling of sleepy
In the whole stage, the mind is a good stimulant for some senses of the body such as taste and smell, but after the completion of food begins the stomach process of digestion, the blood is pumped high to the stomach to digest, especially after the person is a high effort and then settles to eat
Energy gets diverted towards digesting the food.
Because when the stomach is full of food makes it run slowly
Decrease the amount of oxygen because blood laden with oxygen shift toward the stomach to burn food and oxygen carrying amounts toward the human brain feels sleepy
When the intake of food and began the process of digestion in the stomach through the oxidation of food .. happens to oxygen at least the brain and transfer of the stomach to do its job .. Here, the brain prefers to Eachd little comfort by sleeping .. We also note after eating happens that we yawn repeatedly as a sign of the signs of drowsiness and this also shows that the lack of oxygen from the lungs, a guide to the need of the lungs for oxygen
cos human body want any effort to burn the food after eat it
but for people they eat and relax they just feel sleep cos all power they have going to stomack for food analysis process
Carbohydrates help the body absorb tryptophan, for these reasons, eating a meal rich in both protein and carbohydrates may make person feel sleepy. Tryptophan occurs in foods that are rich in protein.
