Finding the right person for the right job is a major challenge for HR Professionals.
Most of the hiring takes place based on a number of factors such as educational/professional qualifications, knowledge, experience, skills, aptitudes, attitudes and so on.
 Now the challenge is measuring these qualities in an individual before hiring to a certain degree of accuracy.
 Some qualities are easy to measure and some are extremely diffcult, if not impossible.
 Notwithstanding, the HR Manager must leave no stones unturned in ensuring that he is choosing the right individual.
 Now coming to answer to the question, talent is more important than experience.
 In fact, experience is a process and development of knowledge and skills is the end result.
 But this is not equal in case of all individuals.
 Some individuals, in spite of long experience, continue to deliver mediocre performance when others with shorter experience excel at the work place.
 As HR Manager, we need to look at the benefit that the individual would bring in to the organisation; his experience does not have a bigger role to play.
 One more important trait that we need to look for is the 'willingness to learn'.
 There are certain individuals, who can deliver performance excellence with an On-Job-Training of about one or two weeks with no prior knowledge or experience in the field!
