this situation can happen in both the nonprofit and the for profit ventures as both sectors needd adequate leadership for a greater and successful results
Too often, teams are formed merely by gathering some people together and then hoping that those people somehow find a way to work together. Teams are most effective when carefully designed. To design, develop and support a highly effective team, use the following guidelines:
1. Set clear goals for the results to be produced by the team.
2. Set clear objectives for measuring the ongoing effectiveness of the team.
3. Define a mechanism for clear and consistent communications among team members.
4. Define a procedure for members to make decisions and solve problems.
5. Develop staffing procedures (recruiting, training, organizing, replacing).
6. Determine the membership of the group.
7. Determine time frames for starting and terminating the team, if applicable.
8. Assign the role of leader – to ensure systems and practices are followed.
9. Assign role of communicator – communication is the life’s blood of teams!
10. Identify needs for resources (training, materials, supplies, etc.).
11. Identify the costs to provide necessary resources for the team.
12. Regularly monitor and report on status of team members toward achieving the goal.
13. Support team meetings and the members’ processes in the team.
14. Regularly celebrate team members’ accomplishments!
One of the best ways to avoid burnout is to regularly celebrate accomplishments. Otherwise, members can feel as if they are on treadmill that has no end. Keep your eye on small and recurring successes, not just the gold at the end of the rainbow.
The steps in creating team cohesion are very simple. Firstly, you must ensure that everybody who is in the team, knows that the team exists and they are in it. Secondly, everybody must understand what the team is for: what are you trying to achieve. Third, everybody in the team must know who everybody else in the team is, and ideally have met them. Everybody must know what their part in the team is, and why that part is important. Everybody must have a rough idea of how all the parts fit together, and in particular how their task relates to the tasks around them.
In other words, the key is knowledge.
To resolve a misunderstanding, you must understand the points of view of all the parties (relatively easy, just ask them) AND exactly what the misunderstanding is (relatively hard - you have to figure it out). If everybody was acting in good faith, resolving it will then be straightforward.
Team building is very critical Task because we have to manage different people of differt Thoughts and from different Locality. By studing their nature, we have to bulid Stratergy and by educating and motivating, we have to achive goal.
By making them realize together we stand. And making them like family. Communication is the best way to resolve disputes.
Encouraging communication. A cohesive team thrives on open communication, Practicing team-building activities, stating and focusing on goals, providing training and development, Celebrating successes as a team, Focusing on building trust, Defining the values of the company and team. And Empowering members of the team.
Resolving misunderstanding between team members should be very cautiously done. Never compare two individuals in the team while in conversation. Have specific roles and resps for each member of the team. There should be no overlaps. There should be only one individual to co-ordinate the entire team, collect data and consolidate. Encourage team work and be proactive to identify any ill feeling developing in the team and have them sorted out instantly.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. same goes for a team. there is a need to understand the strengths and weaknesses of all team members and work towards harnessing these strengths through assigned tasks and mitigating the weaknesses through positive reinforcement in the areas of weaknesses. Conflicts within the team is inevitable but can be resolved amicably by setting tangible and achievable goals for each member of the team as well as aligning these goals to the overarching objective of the organisation
pre-distributed vision of tasks required.
pre-approved plan in whaich all team members get included in planning as a teamwork,
the active communication between the members in conflict is the best choice as recommended by PMI
Team building is done based on a Vision. A strong leader would make a strong team. Misunderstandings occur when a leader listens to his team member about other team memebr in his absence and tries to resolve the issue with preset mind. A Leader should avoid talking about a thrid party with any team member. This would avoid the misunderstandings to a great extend.
Its very important that every individual in the team is aware of their importance in the job role. Their job role should be defined in a manner where they feel the importance of other individual to complete the given task in the given time and what benefit will they gain when they achieve it. Share responsibilities with the individuals so that they feel accountable and work towards it.
