How important is background verification/checks process in the UAE?

Background checks can be a valuable tool for selecting the right candidate fit every time. When used consistently, this simple step can eliminate many future problems for the company. It may be regarding his education, work experience or family background as the person will be travelling from other countries for an occupation.

Background verification has to be a part of any given company's hiring process. It helps to eliminate hiring of candidates with fake education/employment documents, criminal history, etc. Also HR and Supervisor feedback by the previous employer can help you hire the right candidate with right attitude and abilities.

Companies can adopt a pre-employment verification or post-employment verification strategy. However pre-emmployment verification makes more sense to me.
